UConn women’s basketball guard Caroline Ducharme lands NIL deal with Bumble dating app

UConn women’s basketball player Caroline Ducharme has announced an NIL deal with Bumble.

The sophomore guard will be one of 50 student-athlete ambassadors for the dating app, according to her post on Instagram.

Bumble said it was partnering with 50 female college athletes in honor of the 50th anniversary of Title IX, which became law in 1972. The partnerships include events and media, and the women will serve as Bumble ambassadors on their campuses. The company has signed athletes from a variety of different sports all across the country, as name, image and likeness deals become the new norm in college sports.

Bumble has become a popular dating app, with more than 40 million users as of February 2021, according to Forbes. It has differentiated itself from other apps in that women who match with men must message first.

Ducharme, a 6-2 sophomore out of Milton, Mass., averaged 9.8 points and 3.2 rebounds in 21 minutes per game last season. She saw 22 minutes in the national championship game against South Carolina, scoring 9 points and shooting 4-of-8 from the field.

Earlier this month, Ducharme announced a partnership with Degree antiperspirants. The former McDonald’s All-American figures to see an increase in playing time this season, particularly as star guard Paige Bueckers recovers from a torn ACL.
