UF CB Marco Wilson could be ‘unicorn’ Gators seek at Star position

UF cornerback Marco Wilson already has proven to be a special player for the Gators.

Coach Dan Mullen thinks Wilson could become a one-of-a-kind talent in the team’s nickel back role — or in Gators lexicon, the Star position.

The diverse skill set of the 6-foot, 190-pound redshirt junior gives defensive coordinator Todd Grantham the option to line him up at either outside at corner or inside at Star.

While cornerback might be a sexier position, the Star provides the chance to make more plays.
