UFC 262 has added a pivotal featherweight fight.

Fresh off signing a new multifight deal with the promotion, Edson Barboza is set to fight Shane Burgos at the May 15 pay-per-view event at a location and venue to be announced.

Two people with knowledge of the matchup confirmed the booking to MMA Junkie on Tuesday but asked to remain anonymous as the promotion has yet to make an official announcement. Combate was first to report the booking.

Barboza (21-9 MMA, 15-9 UFC) snapped a three-fight losing skid in October when he defeated Makwan Amirkhani by unanimous decision. The win moved Barboza to 1-1 at featherweight after his divisional debut was a controversial split decision loss to Dan Ige in July.

Burgos (13-2 MMA, 6-2 UFC) is coming off a unanimous decision loss suffered to Josh Emmett in June. The defeat snapped a three-fight winning streak. He was scheduled to fight at UFC 257, but his bout was canceled when opponent Hakeem Dawodu withdrew due to injury.

With the addition, the May 15 UFC lineup now includes:

  • Priscila Cachoeira vs. Gina Mazany

  • Viviane Araujo vs. Katlyn Chookagian

  • Alex Perez vs. Matt Schnell

  • Andrea Lee. vs. Antonina Shevchenko

  • Edson Barboza vs. Shane Burgos
