UFC on ESPN 24 bonuses: Gregor Gillespie gets $100,000 because Diego Ferreira missed weight

The UFC handed out four $50,000 bonuses after UFC on ESPN 24 on Saturday.

A pair of fighters won “Performance of the Night” bonuses, and two others took home extra checks for “Fight of the Night.”

Check out the winners below after the event at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

Performance of the Night: Alex Morono

Alex Morono (19-7 MMA, 8-4 UFC) stepped into the co-main event against Donald Cerrone (36-16-1 MMA, 29-16-1 UFC) on just a week's notice. He took full advantage of the opportunity. Morono went after Cerrone late in the first round. He hurt him with a punch, then kept after him until he had a standing TKO win against the future UFC Hall of Famer.

Performance of the Night: Carlston Harris

Carlston Harris (16-4 MMA, 1-0 UFC) made some history when he became the first fighter from Guyana to win in the UFC. The second half of that trivia question will include Christian Aguilera (14-8 MMA, 1-2 UFC), who was put to sleep by Harris with an anaconda choke to open the event. Harris became just the 19th fighter to get an anaconda choke win in the UFC.

Fight of the Night: Gregor Gillespie vs. Diego Ferreira

Gregor Gillespie (14-1 MMA, 7-1 UFC) had all kinds of problems against Diego Ferreira (17-4 MMA, 8-4 UFC) in their first round on the main card. Ferreira even appeared close to a finish. But Gillespie survived the frame, then started to get things done in the second and eventually put Ferreira away with nine seconds left in the round. Because Ferreira missed weight Friday, he was ineligible to get the $50,000 bonus. [vertical-gallery id=609314] [vertical-gallery id=609312]
