UFC GYM, MMA gym, coming to The Plaza at Woodbridge this fall

WOODBRIDGE – UFC GYM is coming to The Plaza at Woodbridge on Route 1 at the former home of Retro Fitness this September or October.

UFC GYM features MMA training programs and classes, incorporating techniques from disciplines such as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, boxing and kickboxing, as well as group fitness classes like yoga, Pilates and Zumba. Additionally, the club offers personal training, HIIT and circuit training.

"They have a program of offerings that differentiates itself from a lot of the other fitness competitors that you see throughout New Jersey," said Justin Lustig, vice president of leasing at Urban Edge Properties. "It's an upgrade for the center, being that Retro Fitness didn't offer these types of classes and opportunities at the gym."

UFC GYM also offers weights, Olympic platforms, machines, hydro massage, compression therapy, youth programs, a juice bar and childcare.

Lustig said The Plaza at Woodbridge is an ideal location for UFC GYM.

"Being that Retro Fitness had an expiration coming up and didn't have a desire to proceed forward, we looked at what the next best thing would be to capture the fitness audience that was already coming to the property and how to elevate it," Lustig said.
