Ugly scenes in the stands marred Tottenham Hotspur’s Champions League victory over Marseille on September 7, with footage showing objects being thrown and security staff struggling to confine Marseille fans to their section.

Towards the end of the match, which Spurs won 2-0, and for a short time afterwards, Marseille fans were reported as “clashing with police” and throwing objects.

Twitter user @therealpuneet shot video inside the stadium, which he said showed “Marseille fans kicking off” and in which a thin line of stewards can be seen attempting to keep separate the rival groups of fans.
