UK football signee Quentel Jones charged with battery in connection to murder investigation
LEXINGTON — Kentucky football signee Quentel Jones was arrested in Fort Valley, Georgia Thursday as part of the investigation into a fatal shooting.
Jones was charged with battery, according to a report from WGXA TV. His brother, Tyler Jones, was arrested and charged with murder earlier this week.
The charges result from a fatal shooting May 14. According to WGXA, police arrived at the scene to find the victim, Brandon Godwin, with a gunshot wound. Godwin was taken to a hospital but died from his injuries.

A defensive lineman, Quentel Jones signed with Kentucky as part of the 2022 recruiting class in December. A three-star prospect by the major recruiting services, Jones was scheduled to arrive on campus in Lexington this summer.
A UK spokesperson told WGXA the school was aware of the arrest and monitoring the situation but would have no further comment at this time.
