STORY: Cleverly, who met President Volodymyr Zelenskiy and Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, condemned Russia for targeting civilians, hospitals and energy infrastructure in attacks that have caused days of blackouts in the capital.

Zelenskiy's office posted a video of the Ukrainian president shaking hands with Cleverly. "Nice to meet you minister, you're welcome," he said, thanking Britain for its support.

Cleverly said Britain stood "shoulder to shoulder" with Ukrainians and announced a package of support for Ukraine ranging from ambulances to support for survivors of sexual violence carried out by the Russian military.

Russia denies targeting civilians in what it calls a "special military operation".
