UK PM hails reaching target of 15 million Covid vaccinations

More than 15 million people in Britain most vulnerable to coronavirus have received a first vaccination dose, Prime Minister Boris Johnson announces in a video posted by 10 Downing Street on Twitter, hailing the "significant milestone".

BORIS JOHNSON: Today, we have reached a significant milestone in the United Kingdom's national vaccination program. On the 8th of December, just after 6:30 in the morning, this country's first coronavirus jab was delivered safely into the arms of Margaret Keenan at University Hospital in Coventry. In the following two months, this country has achieved an extraordinary feat, administering a total of 15 million jabs into the arms of some of the most vulnerable people in the country.
