Ukraine’s Air Force discloses details of attack on Russian ship Novocherkassk
Surviving a missile strike is a formidable challenge for a ship, Ukrainian Air Force spokesperson Yuriy Ihnat said in an interview with Radio Svoboda on Dec. 26, commenting on the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ attack on the Russian landing ship Novocherkassk.
“They’re clearly launching more than one missile,” said Ihnat.
“We understand that the enemy can destroy or intercept cruise missiles. These are subsonic targets, flying at speeds similar to Russian cruise missiles like the Kalibr, around 650-900 in that speed range.”

“Russian air defense systems can destroy them, though not all are intercepted; most missiles reach their targets,” he added.
“We witnessed the power of the explosion and the nature of the detonation.”
