Ukraine calls on allies to declare Russia a terrorist state in response to annexation of Ukrainian land

In particular, Ukraine insists on the need to legally and politically recognize Russia for what it is: a terrorist state.
The ministry called Russian dictator Vladimir Putin’s ceremony of signing “decrees” on “joining” the occupied territories of Ukraine’s Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhya and Kherson oblasts to Russia a performance, adding these “dubious papers” in no way change the internationally recognized borders of Ukraine.
“These actions are legally void under international law and not even worth the paper they’re written on,” the statement said.

The diplomats emphasized the illegal attempt to annex Ukrainian territories was part of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine and a deliberate destruction of the UN Charter.
“Russia is deliberately escalating the situation and shows complete contempt for all countries and international organizations that called on it for negotiations and peace,” reads the statement.
“The Kremlin attempted to annex Ukrainian territories despite warnings from the Ukrainian side that this move would put an end to any diplomatic efforts. Russia deliberately chose war, not peace.”
The ministry reiterated Ukraine and the world would never recognize Russian attempts to establish control over Ukrainian land and would never agree to illegal Russian ultimatums.
“In exercising its legitimate right to self-defense, Ukraine will continue to liberate the territories temporarily occupied by Russia, restoring its territorial integrity within internationally recognized borders, liberating its people from occupation, defending its right to exist as a state and a nation,” the statement says.
“Ukraine will ensure that the Kremlin is held accountable for all crimes committed.”
The Ukrainian ministry also called on allies to take decisive and urgent actions to protect the international legal order, in particular, to speed up the provision of all necessary military, economic and financial assistance to Ukraine, as well as introducing additional tough sanctions against Russia.
“Russia and its leadership must be isolated from the civilized world, they have no place in international organizations and on international platforms,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

In addition, the diplomats call on every state to support the establishment of a Special International Tribunal for the crime of aggression against Ukraine, initiated by the Ukrainian side to bring Russia’s top military and political leadership to justice for unleashing a criminal war against Ukraine.
Russia staged sham referendums in the occupied parts of Ukraine from Sept. 23-27.

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin on Sept 30. signed “agreements” on the annexation of Russian-occupied territory in Ukraine with the leaders of the “LPR/DPR” terrorist organizations and collaborators in Kherson and Zaporizhzhya oblasts.
Ukraine and most countries of the civilized world declared they would never recognize the results of Russian sham referendums and the annexation of Ukrainian territories.

In response to Russia’s actions, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on Sept. 30 that the country would apply for NATO membership on an expedited basis. He also said negotiations between Ukraine and Russia were impossible while Russia is headed by Putin.
At the same time, the G7 Foreign Ministers in its statement condemned Russia’s illegal annexation of the occupied Ukrainian territories and promised to impose additional sanctions against Russia. The European Union also condemned Putin’s move.
Several countries, in particular the United States, on Sept. 30 introduced fresh sanctions against Russia for annexing Ukrainian territories.
