Ukrainian troops have managed to cross the Dnipro River in Kherson Oblast and conduct an operation in a Russia-held area there, Ukraine’s Operational Command South spokesperson Natalia Humeniuk told public broadcaster Suspilne on Aug. 29.

In her comment, Humeniuk said that Ukrainian troops landed on the left bank of the river "to lift the spirit of people under occupation."

Prior to this, Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maliar stated that Ukrainian defenders “carried out certain tasks” on the left bank of Kherson Oblast, without providing further details.
