Ukraine gets NASAMS, Putin’s partial mobilization goes poorly, and global economy falls more than expected

In an interview with CBS News, the President thanked Joe Biden for the decision. According to the U.S. Department of Defense, NASAMS aren’t expected in Ukraine for another few months. The NASAMS battery usually includes three fire platoons (54 missiles), united in an information network. Due to the fact that all 54 missiles of the battery can be fired at various targets within 12 seconds, it can be used to protect air bases, sea ports, settlements, and military forces. The system is effective against UAVs, helicopters, cruise missiles, and aircraft.

UN humanitarian coordinator Denise Brown stated that the UN and other organizations aid workers had no access to the territories of Kharkiv Oblast during the Russian occupation. Only in mid-September did the aid workers started delivering life-saving items, just days after the Ukrainian government announced it had regained control of the oblast in the middle of this month.

For two days in a row, these drones have been attacking targets in Odesa Oblast, damaging infrastructure and causing casualties. According to CNN, Russia has officially purchased and transferred the Mohajer-6 and Shahed-series drones – the Shahed-129 and Shahed-191 – to Russia, despite Iranian insistence that it had not sold weapons to Russia.

The victims include nine children, with another twenty wounded. According to Russian media outlets, during the school day, a man in black clothes broke into the classroom and opened fire at the children. Russia’s Investigative Committee said the criminal, born in 1988, was a graduate of this school. He is said to have committed suicide after the shooting.

Several videos have emerged that apparently show the dreadful conditions in which the Kremlin regime is keeping Russian citizens mobilized for the war against Ukraine. As seen in the released footage, reservists are placed in old premises, where they have to sleep on spring mattress, or even on the bare concrete floor. At the same time, many Russians were even less lucky, since the military leadership left them to spend the night outside. They had to warm themselves by the fire so as not to freeze.

According to Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Aibek Smadiyarov, “Kazakhstan adheres to the principle of territorial integrity of the states, their sovereign equality and peaceful coexistence.” According to U.S. television news channel CNN, Smadiyarov also reaffirmed the government’s readiness to provide assistance to the promotion of political dialogue, adding that “Kazakhstan believes that maintaining stability at the regional and global levels is of paramount importance.”

In the second quarter of 2022, Ukrainians borrowed UAH 1.3 billion from microfinance organizations, while last year this amount was UAH 16.2 billion. For the 2nd quarter of 2022, a little more than 355,000 contracts were signed. This is half the average number of contracts per month in the first quarter of 2022 and 3.3 times less than the average number of contracts per month last year.

While global growth this year was still expected at 3%, it is now projected to slow to 2.2% in 2023, revised down from a forecast in June of 2.8%, the OECD said. “The global economy has lost momentum in the wake of Russia’s unprovoked, unjustifiable and illegal war of aggression against Ukraine. GDP growth has stalled in many economies and economic indicators point to an extended slowdown,” OECD Secretary-General Mathias Cormann said in a statement.

The consequences of mobilization in Russia will be felt by the entire people of Ukraine, not only the military, military and public activist Maria Berlinska said on Radio NV on Sept 25.
