Ukraine hopes Denmark will donate some of its fighter jets

Following a meeting with a delegation from the Foreign Policy Council of the Danish Parliament, PM acknowledged that Denmark has already made a significant contribution to Ukraine’s defense.

“I am thankful for the formation of the ninth weapons package for Ukraine; we appreciate the Danish partners joining the tank coalition,” Shmyhal said in a Telegram post.

“We are counting on Denmark to become part of the air coalition.”

The PM added that post-war reconstruction projects were also discussed at the meeting.

“Denmark took patronage over Mykolaiv, and the first project has already been implemented – restoring water supply to the city,” said Shmyhal.

“In addition, business stimulus programs are being considered, as part of the Ukraine Support Fund, which amounts to DKK 7 billion ($1.02 billion). This will help incentivize Danish companies to help rebuild Ukraine.”
