Ukraine intel says Polish military would 'quickly' deal with any Wagner advance - intel agency

Ukrainian intelligence is convinced that a possible attack by Wagner PMC militants on Poland would be suicidial for the Russians as the Polish army could "quickly solve these problems", Defense Intelligence of Ukraine representative, Andriy Yusov, said on national television on July 24.

Yusov dismissed the threats coming from the Wagner Group as banal and predictable. He believes Russia deployed militants to Belarus in part to constantly provoke neighboring NATO and EU countries.

"This grouping of Wagnerites does not have sufficient forces and means to really pose a threat to, say, Poland," Yusov explained.

He added that an attempt to attack Poland would be suicidal for the terrorists.

"I am convinced that the Polish army would only be happy about such cases and would quickly solve all these problems," he stressed.

Earlier, self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, during a meeting with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, revealed that Wagner mercenaries allegedly threatened to attack Poland.

On July 20, Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak said that his country had moved some of its troops to the eastern border after the arrival of Wagner units in Belarus.

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said that his country would support Poland in the event of an attack by the Wagner PMC from Belarus.
