"RFEF and the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) have included the Ukrainian Football Association (UAF) in the Iberian bid to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup," the federation said in a statement.

“The proposal has the unconditional support of UEFA in the global project and the transformation of European football in an exceptional situation.”

It is noted that the inclusion of Ukraine in the application does not change the plans of Spain and Portugal: the first country intends to use 11 of its stadiums in the tournament, and the latter proposes three arenas.

The Spanish government and their head of state have already expressed their support for this initiative.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has also endorsed Ukraine's application for the 2030 World Cup.
