Ukraine marks independence anniversary in cornfield

Ukraine will celebrate its Independence Day on August 24, commemorating the 1991 Declaration of Independence.

The outline of the trident, the country's coat of arms, is 245 meters long and 138 meters wide, making it one of the largest state symbols ever grown.

Yaroslav Boiko, CEO of Agrilab, the company that grew the corn coat of arms, told Reuters the size of the symbol was designed so that planes could see it from above.

According to Boiko, Agrilab has planted over 400,000 corn seeds to grow the trident.
