“We’ve got to give Ukraine the weapons to eject Russia. Russia is not relenting on what it’s doing, Putin is mobilizing more forces. He is planning for another offensive,” Clark said.

According to him, Ukraine needs 300 to 500 tanks.
“It’s great we are giving them 10 tanks from Britain. Ten tanks? Ukraine needs 300, 500 tanks. It’s great we are trying to send them a few more Howitzers. (But) it’s not enough. We have got to get serious about this.”

Following numerous Ukrainian requests, Poland has decided to transfer German-made Leopard main battle tanks to Ukraine, Polish President Andrzej Duda said during his visit to Lviv, Ukraine, on Jan. 11, where he met with his Ukrainian and Lithuanian counterparts, Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Gitanas Nauseda.
Finnish President Sauli Niinistö has also indicated his country’s willingness to supply a small number of Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine.

On Jan. 16, Defense Secretary Ben Wallace confirmed that the UK will be the first country to deliver modern main battle tanks to Ukraine — as he announced the transfer of 14 Challenger-2 tanks and 30 AS90 self-propelled howitzers.
According to the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, five countries are already ready to transfer Leopard tanks to the Armed Forces, but they are waiting for Germany’s decision.

Earlier, Bloomberg reported that Germany will make a decision this week on the supply of Leopard 2 tanks to the Armed Forces before the Ramstein-format meeting of Ukraine’s military allies on Jan. 20.
