Ukraine Postal Service Issues 'Patron' Dog Stamp to Fundraise for Demining Equipment

Ukraine’s postal authority, Ukrposhta, issued a set of postage stamps featuring Patron the demining dog on Thursday, September 1, in a bid to raise money for sapping equipment.

Video from the September 1 rollout showed stamps featuring Patron the Jack Russell terrier, who became famous shortly after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine for his demining abilities.

The stamps are sold both inside Ukraine and abroad, and the proceeds will go towards purchasing demining equipment and aiding animal shelters, Ukrposhta chief Igor Smelyansky said ahead of the launch. Credit: SES of Ukraine via Storyful
