Ukraine presidential frontrunner names ex-finance minister to team

KIEV, April 18 (Reuters) - Volodymyr Zelenskiy, the frontrunner to become Ukraine's next president, on Thursday said Oleksandr Danylyuk, a former finance minister, would be part of his administration should he win an election run-off this weekend.

A 41-year-old comedian with no prior political experience, Zelenskiy has a commanding poll lead over the incumbent President Petro Poroshenko and won nearly twice as many votes as Poroshenko in the first round on March 31.

Danylyuk was sacked by the government in 2018 and joined Zelenskiy's campaign team earlier this year. Confirmation that he will have a place in any new administration is likely to reassure investors, for whom Zelenskiy is something of an unknown quantity, about his credibility on economy policy.
