The official noted Ukraine has an officially approved missile program with funding already allocated. The missiles will be 100% Ukrainian-made, he noted.

He cited Ukraine's successes in producing missiles, mentioning the Neptune anti-ship missile Ukrainian forces used to “sink the flagship of Russia's Black Sea Fleet twice for the first time in history” back in April 2022.

"Therefore, we have very good prospects for producing Ukrainian missiles with a range of more than 1,000 kilometers," he said.

Reznikov recalled that he had persuaded his partners for a long time to provide Ukraine with Harpoon anti-ship missiles to protect the Black Sea coast, and they finally agreed to do so a week after the Neptune missile hit the Moskva cruiser.

"Once our partners see that our domestically produced missiles can fly 200, 300, 400 kilometers, I'm convinced the ATACMS and other systems will be supplied to our armed forces," the defense minister stated confidently.

"We want our weapons to create a powerful tandem effect together."

Earlier, the Pentagon said that the provision of British Storm Shadows to Ukraine did not affect Washington's position on long-range missiles. At the same time, U.S. congressmen continue to urge Joe Biden to provide Kyiv with longer-range weapons.

Previously, Reznikov stated that Western countries do not supply Ukraine with long-range U.S. ATACMS missiles because there are not many of them in the world, and they still fear that the Ukrainian Armed Forces will strike at Russian territory.

London provided Kyiv with several long-range Storm Shadow cruise missiles, CNN reported on May 11. Ukraine has put them successfully to use. French President Emmanuel Macron said he was ready to provide Kyiv with missiles whose range "will allow it to [put up a fight] during the counteroffensive."
