Ukraine to receive artillery and armored vehicles, no decision on Patriots yet – Kuleba

“I cannot announce specific countries and specific types of weapons,” an NV correspondent quoted Kuleba as saying.

“But we’re talking about the provision of both artillery and armored vehicles (it can be BMPs, BMDs – that's a nuance), and new shells.

“These are the most significant deals secured. And ... (there are) smaller things – like cartridges, grenades, and everything else (as well).”

Kuleba said that Ukraine was most interested in receiving the Patriot air defense system, and relevant negotiations are underway with the United States and Germany.

“Patriot is a huge issue,” Kuleba said. “There is no solution yet. But we are interested in receiving the system that the Germans offered to Poland. And today I discussed this topic with the U.S. secretary of state, and tomorrow I will discuss it with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany.”

Kuleba also reported that transformers suitable for the Ukrainian energy system had been found in one of the NATO countries and that they would be sent to Ukraine.

“As for the power section, there is really maximum mobilization, generators, transformers,” the Ukrainian foreign minister said.

“Literally on my way to this press conference, I received another message from one of the ministers that they had found transformers in a warehouse that are suitable for Ukraine, and we have already started to deliver them in a speed mode,” said Kuleba.

A landmark NATO summit was held in Bucharest, Romania on Nov. 29-30. Alliance foreign ministers gathered in the same city where 14 years ago it was confirmed that Ukraine and Georgia would become members of the alliance, but where they were also denied NATO Membership Action Plans.

Kuleba previously stated that the main topics for Ukraine at the NATO summit in Bucharest are Patriot air defense systems and transformers.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said on the sidelines of the summit that the countries of the alliance are discussing the possibility of supplying Ukraine with Patriot air defense systems, and the discussion is currently ongoing.
