Ukraine receives $890 million tranche from IMF

Ukraine has received its second tranche of $890 million from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) after the first review of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program was successful, the Finance Ministry announced in a Facebook post on July 3.

The ministry noted that Kyiv has already received $3.59 billion under the EFF program, with total planned financing amounting to $15.6 billion.

"During the review of the EFF program, experts and the IMF leadership noted significant progress by the Ukrainian side in implementing structural measures and (meeting) quantitative performance criteria outlined in the program," said Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko.

On June 29, the IMF's Executive Board reviewed Ukraine's progress in implementing the four-year Extended Fund Facility program.

In late May, Ukraine and the IMF reached a staff-level agreement regarding the review of the EFF program.
