“The 4th brother in the Long Hand family, LRU from France, has arrived in Ukraine!” he said.

“The Ukrainian Army now is even more powerful in deterring and destroying the enemy.”

Reznikov added that the transfer of French military hardware to the Armed Forces of Ukraine is “a visible result of friendship” between President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron.

The French-provided LRU MLRS is an upgraded analogue of the M270 tracked system and the fourth variety of sophisticated MLRS — after HIMARS, M270, and MARS II — supplied to Ukraine by partners to counter the Russian invasion.

In October, it was reported that France could send three LRU MRLS to Ukraine.

Ukraine received part of the planned MLRS on Nov. 20, in addition to two Crotale missile batteries for air defense.

France has systematically supported Ukraine since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of the country.

In early October, Macron announced the creation of a EUR 100 million fund which will be used to purchase weapons for Ukraine directly from manufacturers.
