"My collaboration with the US Agency for International Development (USAID) is continuing in a new role,” he said.

“I've met with Elizabeth McKee, the assistant administrator of the USAID International Development in Europe and Eurasia. The key is the additional volume of gas needed to get through this heating season.”

The supply of methanol, gas compressors, diesel generators, and equipment for gas production also was discussed.

The former CEO of Naftogaz of Ukraine, Yuriy Vitrenko, said at the end of October that it was going to be "the hardest winter ever" due to power and heating outages.
