It was the fourth Tor system destroyed by the SBU this month alone, the message reads.

A Grad self-propelled multiple rocket launcher was turned into scrap metal with another suicide drone.

The Tor is an all-weather short-range surface-to-air missile system designed for destroying aerial targets at distances of up to 12 km (7.5 miles) and at altitudes of up to 10 km (6.2 miles).

The modernized target detection station is able to detect aircraft using stealth technologies.

The Tor-M2 is an upgraded version of the Tor-M1 missile systems.

The Tor-M2DT modification is designed to attack anti-radar and cruise missiles, aircraft, helicopters, UAVs, guided aviation bombs, and other aerial targets with 16 missiles even while in flight. It is capable of working in extremely low temperatures up to −50 degrees °C (-58 °F).

The Tor-M2DT is based on the chassis of the Vityaz DT-30 multi-purpose articulated tracked carrier.

The first production batch of 12 such anti-aircraft missile systems was deployed in Russia in 2018, with the first firing of the system taking place in July 2019 in the Arctic archipelago of Novaya Zemlya.
