Ukraine has carried out a drone strike on a local HQ of Russia’s OMON special purpose riot police in occupied Enerhodar, Zaporizhzhya Oblast. Aerial footage of the strike was published by Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence (HUR) in a Telegram post on Aug. 28.

The operation, coordinated by the HUR agents, was successfully carried out by local resistance forces.

At 9:50 a.m., Ukrainian forces directed fire towards makeshift “barracks” of the Akhmat-1 OMON unit within a structure at 46 Budivelnykiv Street. The building, once housing a Ukrainian bank’s office, had been seized by enemy troops after the city’s occupation.

The attack set the building on fire. Firefighters and emergency medical services rushed to the site.

Detailed information on enemy losses is still being verified, according to the message. The report says there were no civilian casualties.

According to sources within intelligence circles, in the wake of a series of explosions, the occupants urgently evacuated the local “administration.” Security sweeps are underway in Enerhodar, with internet access being limited.
