Remember this Ukrainian couple?

Alexandr Kudlay and Viktoria Pustovitova handcuffed themselves on Valentine's Day

in a last-ditch attempt to break a cycle of breaking up and making up

Now, after 123 days, they've decided to part ways

shedding their bonds on national TV

(SOUNDBITE) (Russian) VIKTORIA PUSTOVITOVA, SAYING:

"I think there should remain some mystery in every woman, you know. She should have her personal space. We stayed together entire time, I did not receive any attention from Alexandr because we were constantly together. He does not tell me: "I miss you" while I would like to hear that, but it was not the case."

(SOUNDBITE) (Russian) ALEXANDR KUDLAY, SAYING:

"I am happy about what we had in the past. I do not regret anything. And we will be happy in the future, even if we are not together."
