Negotiations are underway for a friendly soccer match between Ukraine and Moldova to be played on June 11, 2024, in Chișinău.

Facing Moldova as a practice opponent would help Ukraine prepare for the upcoming European Championship, should they qualify, journalist Igor Burbas reported on Twitter.

Moldova, having finished fourth in their Euro 2024 qualifying group, which included Albania, Czech Republic, Poland, and the Faroe Islands, failed to make it to the final stage. However, they made headlines by staging a thrilling comeback victory against Poland, overturning a 0-2 deficit to win 3-2.

Ukraine needs to win two playoff rounds to qualify for Euro 2024. They first face Bosnia and Herzegovina on March 21. If Ukraine advances, they will potentially play the winner of Israel versus Iceland on March 26.
