Quote from Yermak: "Operation [for] "demilitarisation" in the extremely precise style of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will continue until the complete liberation of Ukrainian territories. Our soldiers are the best sponsors of a good mood. Crimea is Ukraine."

Background:

  • On the morning of 16 August, explosions rocked the Dhzankoi district of Russian-occupied Crimea; fire could be seen on the scene. It was reported that an ammunition storage site in the village of Maiske had been hit.

  • The occupiers in Crimea began evacuating people after explosions at an ammunition storage site near Dzhankoi; as of 10.00 on 16 August, about 2,000 people have already left.

  • It was later known that the railway in the Dzhankoi district of occupied Crimea [in the north part of peninsula] has been damaged due to an explosion at an ammunition storage site in the village of Maiske; trains coming from Russia will stop in Vladyslavivka, near Feodosiia [a town in the eastern part of the peninsula].
