Ukrainian Armed Forces force Russians to retreat on 2 fronts General Staff report

Ukrainian Defence Forces have repelled Russian attacks on the Novopavlivka and Bakhmut fronts and forced Russian troops to retreat to their previously occupied positions.

Details: On the Volyn and Polissia fronts, up to seven battalions of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus have focused their efforts on conducting reconnaissance and performing combat engineering tasks in order to reinforce their positions. There is an ongoing threat of rocket and air strikes on Ukraine from the territory of Belarus.

On the Sivershchyna front, Russian forces have shelled civilian infrastructure in the areas around the towns and villages of Sopych, Baranivka, Ulanove, and Bachivsk in Sumy Oblast . Russian UAVs conducted aerial reconnaissance near Seredyna Buda in Sumy Oblast.

On the Kharkiv front, helicopter-supported units of Russian troops attempted to hold back the advance of the Ukrainian forces to Ukraine’s state border in the north. Russian forces have shelled civilian infrastructure in the areas around the towns and villages of Peremoha, Ruska Lozova, Stara Hnylytsia, Bairak, Verkhnii Saltiv, and Zamulivka. Russian aircraft conducted an airstrike on the area near Mospanove. Fighting is continuing in the area around the city of Rubizhne.

On the Sloviansk front, Russia’s main efforts are focused on continuing to mount the offensive on the city of Sloviansk. Russian forces are firing on Shevelivka, Virnopillia, Hrushuvakha, and Nova Pavlivka using artillery, and conducting airstrikes near Husarivka. Ukrainian troops have successfully repulsed Russian assault operations in Bohorodychne and Dolyna. Russian forces are attempting to advance on Krasnopillia; fighting is continuing there.

On the Donetsk front, Russia has opened artillery fire on Ustynivka, Toshkivka, New-York, Novomykhailivka, Antonivka, and Kamianski Dachi.

Russian occupation forces did not undertake active combat operations on the Lyman front, but have shelled civilian infrastructure near Sydorove, Maiaky, and Zakitne using artillery.

On the Sievierodonetsk front, Russian forces have been firing on Ukrainian positions with mortars, artillery, and multiple rocket launchers and have shelled civilian infrastructure in and around Sievierodonetsk, Lysychansk, Toshkivka, Ustynivka, Borivske, and Metiolkino. Russian military aircraft have conducted airstrikes near Bila Hora.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces are successfully repelling Russian assault operations in Sievierodonetsk and Toshkivka, where fighting is continuing.

On the Bakhmut front, Russian forces fired on Ukrainian positions with artillery in the areas around Spirne, Yakovlivka, Pokrovske, Klynove, and Novoluhansk. Russian aircraft conducted an airstrike near Ustynivka. The Armed Forces of Ukraine have thwarted Russian attempts to advance on Mykolaivka, where Russian forces suffered losses and retreated. Russian troops are regrouping to resume the offensive. Taking advantage of fire damage sustained by the Ukrainian troops, Russian forces conducted assault operations on Zolote-3, Novoluhanske, and Berestove, but suffered losses and were forced to retreat to their previously occupied positions. Russian forces are continuing to storm Vrubivka, where fighting is continuing.

On the Novopavlivka front, Ukrainian Defence Forces have repelled a Russian assault on the town of Shevchenko, forcing the enemy to retreat.

On the Avdiivka, Kurakhove, and Zaporizhzhia fronts, Russia did not undertake active combat operations, but continued to shell civilian infrastructure around the towns and villages of Pisky, Avdiivka, Ilinka, Marinka, Antonivka, Chervone, and Novosilka and have conducted an airstrike near Kamianske.

On the Pivdennyi Buh front, Russian forces have shelled Topolyne, Lepetykha, Bereznehuvate, Kobzartsi, Shevchenkove, Posad-Pokrovske and Lupareve and have conducted an airstrike near Kniazivka.
