Ukrainian Armed Forces repel Russian attacks near 7 settlements and destroy 6 Russian ammunition storage points General Staff report


The Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled Russian attacks near Soledar, Vyimka, Kurdiumivka, Zaitseve, Novomykhailivka, Pervomaiske and Pavlivka on Sunday, 25 September.

Details: Over the course of 25 September, Ukrainian defence forces [the collective name for all Ukrainian military formations involved in the ongoing combat in this country - ed.] repelled Russian attacks near Soledar, Vyimka, Kurdiumivka, Zaitseve, Novomykhailivka, Pervomaiske and Pavlivka.

In order to support ground forces, Ukrainian aircraft carried out 21 airstrikes and struck 14 areas where Russian military personnel and equipment were concentrated and seven anti-aircraft defence systems. In addition, Ukrainian anti-aircraft defence units destroyed two Russian UAVs on two different fronts.

Ukraine’s missile and artillery units struck six Russian command posts; 11 areas where Russian military personnel, weapons and equipment were concentrated; two anti-aircraft systems; the positions of three Russian missile units and artillery; six ammunition storage points; and eight other important Russian targets.

The General Staff also reported that on 24 September Ukrainian artillery units carried out firing missions that destroyed around 10 pieces of Russian military equipment and weapons systems near Huliaipole and one Russian S-300 anti-aircraft missile system and an ammunition storage point near Tokmak, all on the temporarily occupied territory of Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

Over the course of 25 September, Russian forces carried out four missile strikes and seven airstrikes as well as 24 attacks using multiple-launch rocket systems (MLRS) in violation of international humanitarian law and the laws and customs of war.

More than 35 cities, towns and villages sustained damage as a result of Russian attacks, including Kupiansk, Bilohorivka, Spirne, Bakhmutske, Bakhmut, Niu-York, Krasnohorivka, Kurakhove, Novomykhailivka, Pavlivka, Zaporizhzhia, Volodymyrivske, Ochakiv, Mykolaiv, Myroliubivka, Novovoznesenske, Sukhyi Stavok and Odesa.

On other fronts, the Russians continued to fire on military and civilian targets using tank guns, mortars and various types of artillery:

  • On the Sivershchyna front: areas in and around Huta-Studenetska and Bleshnia (Chernihiv Oblast) and Bachivsk, Shalyhine and Seredyna Buda (Sumy Oblast);

  • On the Slobozhanshchyna front: areas in and around Strilecha, Huriv Kozachok, Stohnii, Udy, Veterynarne and Kupiansk;

  • On the Kramatorsk front:  Sloviansk, Korovii Yar, Bohorodychne, Yarova, Pryshyb and Ozerne;

  • On the Bakhmut front: Soledar, Bakhmut, Bakhmutske, Odradivka, Zaitseve, Opytne, Yakovlivka, Niu-York, Maiorsk, Nelipovka, Yurivka, Vyimka, Bilohorivka, Rozdolivka, Spirne, Vesele and Verkhnokamianske;

  • On the Avdiivka front: Avdiivka, Opytne, Pervomaiske, Vodiane, Krasnohorivka, Novomykhailivka, Marinka and Paraskoviivka;

  • Russian forces attacked 18 cities, towns and villages on the Novopavlivka and Zaporizhzhia fronts: Mykilske, Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva, Velyka Novosilka, Novomaiorske, Vremivka, Pavlivka, Zaliznychne, Shevchenko, Bilohiria, Poltavka, Novosilka, Novopil, Temyrivka, Vremivka, Chervone and Olhivske;

  • On the Pivdennyi Buh front, Russian forces fired artillery and mortar bombs on over 38 towns and villages in the vicinity of the line of contact, including Novovoznesenske, Arkhanhelske, Sukhyi Stavok, Pervomaiske, Marhanets and Nikopol.

Russian forces made up to 60 UAV sorties in order to conduct aerial reconnaissance, adjust artillery fire and carry out strikes on civilian infrastructure.
