The Ukrainian Army assigned one of its helicopters to carry out a special festive mission to help St. Nicholas deliver gifts to children on St. Nicholas Day, which coincides with Armed Forces Day on Dec. 6, according to a Facebook post by the Ukrainian Ground Forces.

The video showcases a man dressed as St. Nicholas descending a rappel line from a helicopter into a child’s home to deliver them gifts.

"We have been through a lot in two years of fighting,” the video’s narrator states.

“And we have learned a lot. We have worked on our mistakes and are ready to change. We are adapting to the new reality: night sirens, daily donations, and evening prayers in which we appeal to higher powers. But we are that power. That is why on Dec. 6, Ukrainians celebrate two holidays. The Day of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and St. Nicholas Day. We unite these forces for our victory, for our future, because the faith of each Ukrainian unites our hearts and makes us even stronger. Between combat missions, Army Aviation finds time to help St. Nicholas greet children".
