Ukrainian troops, using an American infantry fighting vehicle M2 Bradley, effectively neutralized two Russian T-72 tanks during an intense battle on July 18.

Hanna Maliar, the Deputy Minister of Defense, recounted the heroic efforts of the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade, including key figures such as the gunner “Prymara,” the BMP commander “Kach,” and the driver-mechanic “Bublik,” who operated on the Zaporizhzhya front.

“Our military is well aware that Western equipment attracts the enemy’s attention, and as soon as the Bradley appears on the frontline, the Russians unleash all their firepower, from grenade launchers to artillery and attack helicopters,” she said.

According to the deputy minister, the Bradley initially outmaneuvered the Russian infantry from both flanks. After successfully eliminating the occupants with the automatic cannon, the Russians declared a “real hunt” for the Ukrainian Bradley and urgently brought a pair of T-72 tanks into the fight.

“Both Russian tanks were promptly taken out of action. The Bradley is equipped with the powerful TOW anti-tank missile, which the crew skillfully employed,” added Maliar.

Earlier reports from OSINT analysts at CNN claimed that Ukraine had allegedly lost 16 Bradley IFVs during the initial days of the counteroffensive. Nevertheless, the Kyiv authorities have not officially commented on the extent of equipment losses.
