The Ukrainian army has achieved notable success in its counteroffensive in the south, the commander of the Ukrainian military’s Tavria Operational and Strategic Group of Troops, Oleksandr Tarnavskiy, reported on June 19.

Ukraine’s missile and artillery forces conducted 1,298 fire missions over the past 24 hours, he stated.

Enemy personnel losses exceeded two companies in the past day. A total of 47 units of equipment was eliminated as well, namely:

•         three tanks,

•         nine infantry fighting vehicles,

•         two Orlan-10 UAVs,

•         two Zala UAVs,

•         a Supercam UAV,

•         four 2C3 Acacia self-propelled artillery systems,

•         BM-21 Grad,

•         two 2A65 Msta-B howitzers

•         two 2S19 Msta-S howitzers,

•         a S-300 anti-aircraft missile system,

•         a Buk anti-aircraft missile system,

•         a Pole-21 electronic warfare system.

Six ammunition warehouses were also destroyed during the same period.

Ukraine's counteroffensive: the latest news

The Ukrainian military liberated the village of Pyatikhatky in Zaporizhzhia region on June 19, Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Hanna Malyar confirmed.

In total, over the two weeks of the counteroffensive in the Berdyansk and Melitopol directions, eight settlements have been liberated:

•         Novodarivka

•         Levadne

•         Storozheve

•         Makarivka

•         Blagodatne

•         Lobkove

•         Neskuchne

The counter-offensive is ongoing on several fronts as of June 15, Malyar reported.
