Ukrainian forces liberate part of village of Opytne near Avdiyivka in Donbas — Defense Ministry
Ukrainian forces have liberated part of the village of Opytne south of the front-line town of Avdiyivka in Donetsk Oblast, Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Malyar said on Sept. 11.
"There was movement in the area of Opytne, and the Defense Forces occupied a part of the settlement," Malyar said.

Opytne is located in the Pokrovsk district of Donetsk Oblast. The village is bordered by Avdiyivka to the north and by the territory of Donetsk International Airport to the south.
Donetsk International Airport was occupied by Russian forces early in 2015 after more than three months of fierce fighting, during which much of the airport was destroyed.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces also had partial success in the Novomayorske area of Donetsk Oblast during the week. Now the defenders are consolidating in those areas, Malyar said.
On the Bakhmut sector, Ukrainian troops had "some success" near Klishchiyivka and Andriyivka. They pushed the Russian units out and advanced. Ukrainian forces liberated another 2 square kilometers, and have now liberated a total of 49 square kilometers since the beginning of the offensive.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian troops continue their offensive in the south of Ukraine. They have advanced another 1.5 kilometers on the Tavria section of the front, and are making progress in the area south of the liberated village of Robotyne, Ukraine’s military says.
