Details: During the attack, one of the Shahed UAVs was shot down in Kyiv’s Dnipro district near the Patriarchal Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ and the residence of the head of the UGCC. The blast wave damaged the doors and shattered windows in the cathedral. A high-rise building near the church suffered more extensive damage.

"As a result of the drone attack on Kyiv, six windows in the basement of the Patriarchal Cathedral were damaged. The blast wave knocked out the double-glazed windows. The fittings on four doors of the church were damaged, and the door locks were pretty much torn out," said Vasyl Bukatiuk, director of the Construction Directorate under the Patriarch of the UGCC.

As well as the cathedral, he said, the archbishop’s residence was also damaged: "The fittings of three doors in the Patriarchal Residence and the Patriarchal Curia were damaged."

In addition, minor damage was recorded to the facade of the Patriarchal Cathedral. A large quantity of drone debris in various sizes was collected on its territory.

"Instead of gifts from St Nicholas, we will have these original souvenirs," said Sviatoslav Shevchuk, Major Archbishop of the UGCC.
