The decision was supported by 231 out of 418 sitting MPs.

The bill would legalize and regulate digital currency operations in Ukraine, establishing parity between digital wallets and ordinary bank account.

Once in force, the legislation would allow citizens to pay taxes with digital currency, along with utility payments – if the service provider accepts such payments.

At the same time, Zheleznyak noted that digital currency circulation in Ukraine will remain limited under martial law, suggesting most of the effects of the law will become apparent after the war.
