Ukrainian singer Jamala devotes new song to those helping Ukrainian refugees abroad

More than six million Ukrainians have fled Russia’s ongoing aggression against Ukraine.

"Strangers from neighboring countries took care of us as if we were family,” said Jamala, introducing the song.
“And some even accommodated them in their homes. With this video, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and I thank our close neighbors, who have now become a close family, for their hospitality. A huge thank you to the families who shared their personal moments. While preparing the video, our eyes were wet with tears. We weren’t be able to use all of these stories, but everyone deserves (gratitude).”

Banda Agency assisted in the song’s production, consisting of videos chronicling the stories of Ukrainians who have been hosted by families in Poland, Moldova, Romania, Slovakia, and Hungary.
"Today it is very important to say thanks to all foreigners who helped and are helping Ukrainians from the first days of the full-scale war,” said Dmytro Kuleba, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
“Our closest neighboring countries have opened their homes to millions of Ukrainian women and children as family, for which we will never tire of thanking them. I am sure that this assistance will strengthen the friendship between our countries for generations to come.”
