Ukrainian soldiers injured in road accident with Estonian bus in Latvia

Ukrainian military servicemen have been injured in a road accident that occurred in Latvia.

A bus transporting people commissioned by the Estonian military department collided with a truck on the territory of Latvia. The bus was on its way from Poland to Estonia.

Quote: "As a result of the accident, one Estonian serviceman of the Defence Forces was injured and taken to the hospital for examination. The rest of the passengers who were injured in the accident are servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who were also taken to the hospital," the message reads.

The accident happened on the evening of 26 November, in the area of ​​the Latvian city of Ainaži, near the Estonian border, on the Via Baltica highway.

As a result of the accident, the bus driver died, 26 other people suffered injuries of various severity; three were in serious condition.

It remains unclear exactly how many Ukrainian soldiers were injured, but according to Estonian media, most of the passengers were Ukrainians.

Several traffic accidents occurred on the same road on Saturday due to snow and black ice.
