Ukrainian teachers in occupied Luhansk region forced to obtain Russian passports

The Russian occupying forces are coercing Ukrainian teachers who stayed to work in the seized part of Luhansk Oblast to obtain Russian passports.

All the teachers who remained working in the temporarily occupied areas have been notified of their dismissal if they fail to receive Russian passports."

Details: NRC also reported that teachers have been forced to write an application to renounce Ukrainian citizenship, even though dual citizenship is allowed in the Russian Federation.

The Russian invaders plan to distribute Russian passports among teachers using an expedited procedure.

Background: At the end of January, NRC reported that the Russian occupation forces in Donetsk Oblast were coercing employees of state-owned and municipal organisations to obtain Russian passports.
