Ukrainians set record in April for purchases of used foreign cars

The largest share in this segment of the car market is made up of gasoline-fueled cars – 45%.

They are followed by:

  • Diesel cars - 36%;

  • Electric cars - 11%;

  • Cars using LPG fuel - 5%;

  • Hybrids - 3%.

The average age of the used cars that gained Ukrainian license plates in April is 11 years.

The Renault Megane remains the most popular car model among imported second-hand cars. In April, 1,273 cars of this model were registered with Ukrainian license plates.

The Volkswagen Golf comes second with 1,180 registrations, the Skoda Octavia is in third place with 794 cars, and the Volkswagen Passat (694) and Ford Focus (377) round out the top five.

Also in the top 10 of the month were: the Nissan Leaf - 366 cars; Nissan Qashqai - 337 cars; VW Touran - 320 cars; Skoda Fabia - 277 cars; and Audi A4 - 270 cars.

Since the beginning of the year, 54,500 used cars imported from abroad have received their first registration plates in Ukraine, which is 3.3 times more than sales of new cars over the same period.
