Ukrainian state railway company Ukrzaliznytsia and state postal company Ukrposhta have launched a charity campaign for Ukrainian soldiers on the eve of the Christmas and New Year holidays.

The two companies announced the initiative on Facebook on Dec. 21.

To send your best wishes to the military, mailboxes and postcards from Ukrposhta can be found at five key tourist railway stations of Ukrzaliznytsia, Ukrposhta’s press service said.

Every passenger has the chance to wish Ukrainian soldiers a happy holiday, express gratitude, and sincerely thank them for their service.

"As the holidays approach, it's crucial for every defender to feel our support and positive emotions, and to know that they're eagerly awaited and deeply appreciated," said Ukrposhta General Director Ihor Smilianskyi.

Postcards will be sent by trains from the railway stations of Ivano-Frankivsk, Tatarov-Bukovel, Vorokhta, Slavsk, and Truskavets to the east, where Ukrainian forces are engaged in fierce fighting with the enemy.

"We want to convey our gratitude to our Defense Forces from Ukrainian families who have the chance to celebrate this year's Christmas in safe Ukrainian cities and share the warmth directly from the main centers of winter recreation and rehabilitation," said Ukrzaliznytsia’s board member, Oleksandr Pertsovskyi.

You can take and send a postcard free of charge. The delivery of warm wishes will be handled by the "Iron Mail" service from Ukrzaliznytsia and Ukrposhta. The initiative will last throughout the Christmas and New Year holidays.

Ukrposhta and Ukrzaliznytsia previously launched a joint, "Iron Mail" project in April 2022 for delivering standard parcels.
