Umbrella or nah? What the weather looks like now for Thanksgiving week

Thanksgiving Day will be a typical bright fall day, but commuters and holiday travelers may encounter some tricky weather in the days before.

According to the National Weather Service, the Lower Hudson Valley will see steady rain on Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday morning.

The rain will begin Tuesday around 4 p.m. with a high of 46 degrees. It will warm up overnight close to 50 degrees in the evening. The rain is expected to end by 10 a.m. Wednesday morning with a high of 52, but will drop to frigid temperatures in the evening around 32 degrees.

Rain may return on Friday after 1 p.m. with a high of 48 degrees in the day and a low of 37 in the evening. A chance of rain could continue into Saturday morning, but the overall forecast predicts a partly sunny day with a high of around 45 degrees.

Rainy conditions during the days with the highest travel volumes may cause slick roads, traffic problems or flight delays for those who are driving or flying out to their holiday destinations.

Thanksgiving Day will be sunny with a high of 50 degrees, according to the NWS. The temperatures could drop to 32 during the evening.
