Memorial Day is on Monday, May 29 this year.

Will it be a good day to cook out or a rainy day in?

Here are three things to know about the weather outlook for Memorial Day 2023 in Columbus, Georgia and surrounding areas:

  • It’s going to feel like 96 degrees in the afternoon.

According to Accuweather, the high will be around 83 degrees and there will be lots of sunshine; however, Accuweather’s RealFeel says it’s going to feel like 96 outside. And in the shade, it’ll feel like 83.

  • There’s barely a chance of rain.

While some clouds may come in, there is a low chance of rain. In fact, it looks like the rain chances are only around 20%

  • The highs won’t top last year’s.

Last year, the temperature was around 92 degrees, sunny and with no chance of rain in sight. But rain isn’t uncommon for Memorial Day in Columbus. A record high of 1.11 inches of rain hit the area in 1991.
