UMC Health and Wellness Hospital opens in Lubbock

UMC Health System opened a new hospital this week, offering a facility that can "evaluate, stabilize, and diagnose injuries, and provide a basic emergency department with trauma nurses and physicians available.

The Health & Wellness Hospital, 11011 Slide Road, opened on Dec. 4, according to a news release from UMC. The facility offers:

  • The Cancer Center Infusion at the City Bank Infusion Center.

  • Cardiac Rehab.

  • Emergency Center.

  • Inpatient Beds.

  • Laboratory services.

  • A Medical Fitness Center, known as UMC Connect.

  • Physical therapy services.

  • Operating rooms.

  • Cardiac catheterization facilities.

  • A drive-thru pharmacy with RX Perks.

  • Radiology services, including MRI, CT and interventional procedures.

The clinics inside the hospital will also offer specialized services in Cardiology, Endocrinology, Family Medicine, General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, and Urology.

The hospital will extend UMC's emergency care services with a 24-hour ambulance, which can transfer patients to the UMC Trauma Center.

"Our state-of-the-art healthcare facility, situated at 11011 Slide Road, is ready to provide comprehensive care to our community," the release stated. "Committed to delivering high-quality and personalized healthcare, we are here to address the diverse needs of our community."
