UN Educational Building in Gaza Destroyed in Israeli Strikes
A building housing a UN educational program was among the many structures destroyed in Gaza since Israel began its bombardment of the enclave in response to the weekend attack by Hamas that left hundreds dead.
This footage, recorded by local journalist Mohammed Dahlan, shows the headquarters of the Al-Fakhoora Scholarship and Empowerment Program, in downtown Gaza City, completely destroyed.
According to its official website, the United Nations Al-Fakhoora program works with “Palestinian postsecondary students of underserved backgrounds … to actualise their potential by overcoming socioeconomic, political and cultural limitations.”
The death toll from airstrikes on Gaza following the Hamas attack on southern Israel rose to at least 687 on Tuesday, October 10, the Palestinian Ministry of Health reported.
