UN Security Council rejects Russian call to ‘investigate bioweapons activities’ in Ukraine and US

Only Russia and China voted in support of the resolution. The other permanent members of the council, the United States, Britain and France, voted against it. All 10 non-permanent members of the Security Council abstained

Russia submitted the 310-page draft resolution on "military biological" activities it said were being carried out in Ukraine with support of the U.S. Department of Defense. In it, the Kremlin accused Ukraine and the United States of activities outside the convention against the use of biological weapons, the Washington Post reported on Nov. 2.
There is no evidence that any of the Kremlin’s accusations are true.
U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield called the debate and vote on Russia’s resolution “a colossal waste of time,” saying it was held for the sole purpose of spreading disinformation.
