‘Unacceptable;’ Another area school district says student was left on bus
Another area school district is investigating after a student was left on a school bus Tuesday.
“We learned today of a situation that compromised one of our students and it is unacceptable,” Indian Lake Schools Superintendent Rob Underwood said in a statement on the district’s website.
According to Underwood, a student did not get off of the bus at the school and the district learned that the child remained on the bus after the route was over.

“After the child did not arrive at school, an investigation took place and the child was located still on the bus,” he said.
Underwood says the child was then taken to the school and later picked up by a parent.
“I can assure you that the staff member involved is now going through the disciplinary process,” Underwood said.

Underwood says the district is taking this situation “very seriously.”
“Our staff member did not meet our expectations and it is unacceptable. We will work to do better,” he said.
Last week, a preschool student was left on a school bus in Celina four hours.
Celina police and Mercer County Children Services are investigating how and why a school bus driver and an aide left the girl on the bus.
