Unaka retires Lyndie Ramsey’s No. 10 jersey

STONEY CREEK, Tenn. (WJHL) – One of the Lady Rangers’ all-time greats returned to her alma mater on Monday night.

The school honored 2023 graduate, Lyndie Ramsey, by retiring her jersey ahead of UHS’ senior night contests against North Greene.

Second-quarter burst powers ETSU past Samford

Ramsey was a four-time All-State selection in Class 1A and was twice named a Ms. Basketball Finalist in the state of Tennessee. She also shattered the school’s all-time scoring record with 2,902 points.

“I think it’s really cool – this school has meant a lot to me,” she said. “They always hold a special place for me and my family.”

With her family behind her, Ramsey explained how grateful she is for all the support received along her basketball journey – including her teammates at ETSU.

“Honestly, being [at ETSU] feels like family, just like Unaka did,” she added. “They’re always there for me and obviously them being here for me meant a lot, too – and my coaches being here. My coaches, with this concussion and my knee surgery, they have been there for me every step of the way. It honestly has meant a lot to me.”

Ramsey has seen action in two games for the Lady Bucs this season, scoring all five of her points against Lees-McRae back in December.
